WELCOME

Discover the Magic of Animals at THE WODAC PET EXPO (The World of Dogs & Cats and Pet Exhibition and Magic of Horses)

Background - The first World of Dogs & Cats Exhibition was held in Durban in 1996 at the Durban Exhibition Centre and in 2003 we took the show to The Dome in Johannesburg. In 2011 the exhibition moved to the Gallagher Convention Cenre, an extremely popular venue where the event has been a resounding success with record visitors.  2013 sees the inclusions of an additional hall for the Magic of Horses.   The primary purpose for holding such an event is to expose the public to purebred dogs and cats and inform them of what responsible dog, cat and pet ownership involves. Every year we endeavour to improve and develop this event and to demonstrate all facets of activity to those that either already have or are considering the pleasure and responsibility of owning a pet.

The 2006 exhibition at the Coca Cola Dome saw the introduction of our third arena for demonstrations and displays which proved very popular - the dancing with dogs competitions and displays, took place throughout the weekend and had audiences absolutely enthralled with their dazzling performances.  2007 made a welcome return to Durban and featured many more special competitions for pet lovers to enter, enjoy, win prizes and join-in as an integral part of the show in aid of animal welfare.     Wodac made its debut in Cape Town in November 2010 with great success and a really fantastic weekend was had by all.  WODAC 2011, 2012 and 2013 were held at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Midrand.   Numerous new attractions were introduced and everyone enjoyed this beautiful venue.

2013 saw the return of WODAC once again to DURBAN after a five year break.   The weekend was amazing with a record number of visitors over the three days.

For the average man in the street, it is often very difficult to make a decision on which breed of dog or cat to choose when purchasing an animal. Our Breeder, Club and Trainer area and the Hall of Cats, gives the visitor a great opportunity to see numerous breeds and talk to the owners. Each breed has its own personal characteristics and experts on the various breeds are on hand to give good advice to potential owners. Visitors will find all the help they need to choose the right pet for their family circumstances. The welfare stands will have their own area to enable them to promote the great work that they do.

But there is more for the visitor to enjoy and learn from... From the beautiful show dogs and cats, the top obedience and agility dogs to the Hall of Birds, Fish, Cats etc and the all exciting arena events where visitors will enjoy the various dog activities in the three arenas - Dancing with Dogs, Agility, Dog Jumping, Wodac 60-Weaving Pole Challenge, Fly Ball, Canine Good Citizen, Obedience and Carting displays to name but a few. Pet food manufacturers, healthcare companies, pet product and accessory suppliers, trainers, animal welfare organisations, dog and cat clubs and more. I am sure visitors will once again enjoy the entertaining interactive displays by exhibitors and learn more about the joys of responsible pet ownership and the positive role they play in society.
